A leading FMCG company in Bendigo is seeking a dynamic Business Improvement Manager to organise transformable continuous improvement initiatives. This role is pivotal in optimising processes and achieving key operational KPIs through strategic planning and organisation. The successful candidate will lead major CI projects, conduct research to develop evaluative metrics, assess and implement potential projects, and monitor ongoing performance. Key Responsibilities:
- Drive and lead major CI projects, fostering a culture of continuous improvement across the company through Kaizen events.
- Create a balanced scorecard to evaluate the Plant & Operations function, ensuring alignment with corporate goals across Safety, Quality, Animal Welfare, Environment, Performance, and Staff.
- Conduct research using appropriate tools to evaluate potential projects, plan and formulate projects based on research results, and oversee project execution.
- Select, develop, train, and supervise a team of analysts, facilitating workplace training and coaching employees at all levels in continuous improvement fundamentals.
- Recommend and manage budgets, including staffing, technology, facility, and equipment requirements or improvements.
- Collaborate with operations and management to identify areas for process improvements and standardise best practices across the company.
- Lead and facilitate Kaizen training events to develop more leaders and enhance problem-solving capabilities.
- Build relationships across the company and with external vendors to identify emerging technologies and warehouse automation projects.
- Over 10 years of progressive experience as an Industrial Engineer or Industrial Engineer Manager.
- Expertise in personnel management, distribution operations, creating work instructions, auditing, quality management systems, Kaizen, Lean, and Six Sigma.
- Proficiency in strategic planning, organising, and directing engineering efforts towards achieving company goals and objectives.
- Strong abilities to evaluate projects, justify expenditures, and formulate effective proposals.
- Effective leadership abilities to build and supervise high-performing teams, coupled with exceptional communication and negotiation skills.
- Proficiency in project oversight, data analysis, and reporting to ensure successful project implementation.
- A collaborative mindset to identify process improvement opportunities and standardise best practices.
- Orientation towards continuous learning to stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies.
