This esteemed faith-based education provider, a cornerstone of the local community, and is currently seeking an experienced Business Manager to join the leadership team. This role is ideally suited for a candidate who can commence immediately.
In this position, you will lead and mentor a small team encompassing finance, administration, facilities management, and compliance. You will be actively involved in all finance-related matters and serve as a key member and contributor to the Senior Leadership Committee.
Role Responsibilities:
This multifaceted role includes significant responsibilities in finance, administration, and operations. You will engage with a diverse range of stakeholders, with day-to-day duties including, but not limited to:
Finance
- Oversight of school finances, encompassing cash flow, strategic planning, budgeting, controls, and reporting
- Development and review of finance policies and procedures
- Supervision of transactional accounting functions: payroll, accounts payable, and receivable
- Collaboration with the board for budgeting, forecasting, and reporting
- Liaising with parents regarding tuition fees and payment schedules as required.
- Preparation of budgets, forecasts, and presentation of reports monthly
- Overseeing financial accounting duties and cash flow reporting/forecasting and statutory reporting
- Strategic planning and end-of-month processing/reporting
- Management and compliance reporting
- Reporting to the Financial Oversight Committee on a monthly basis
Additional Duties:
- Contributing to the leadership team
- Governance across all areas of the school
- Supervision of facilities management and administration functions
- Overseeing policy review and compliance
- Human Resources management, covering recruitment, performance reviews, and staff records.
- Ensuring Occupational Health and Safety (OH&S) compliance
- Adherence to regulatory bodies' requirements
- Collaboration with external partners to secure additional funding or grants.
- Monitoring attendance in partnership with the principal
- Other ad hoc duties as required
Skills and Experience Required:
To excel in this role, you must possess a keen eye for detail, the ability to engage with multiple stakeholders, and strong communication skills. Additionally, the following qualifications and experience are required:
- Formal accounting qualification CA / CPA or equivalent
- Experience within the education sector is advantageous but not essential.
- Previous experience in a leadership role
- Experience leading a diverse team.
- Proven experience working in a highly compliant environment.
- A strategic mindset and commercial outlook
- The ability to work with complex processes and systems.
- Have a strong focus on system improvement, automation and efficiency
- Be an innovator and able to build strong relationships
