Clinical Research Unit, Neurology The Department Neurology is a developing specialty within Alfred Health, and recent investment has produced significant growth in this area, particularly with regard to research and Clinical Trials. Neurology at Alfred Health consists of inpatient units and a range of specialised outpatient clinics.
Position Summary:
We have a great opportunity for a Business Manager role in Alfred Neurology Clinical Trials team. This position will be responsible to Alfred Brain Director for management and operational efficiency of business activities including: financial management, contract management, grants administration including due diligence, Specified Purpose Funds (SPFs) and General operating fund. Manage and review of budgets and financial reporting requirements of the Director in addition to the supervision of the administrative support teams in respect to activities associated with financial activities such as billing and ensure timely accurate communication of financial reports. Maintain effective liaison with the University and affiliated outside organisations regarding business and financial activities on behalf of and under the direction of the Director and Professor/Director of Research. Identify, promote and pursue business opportunities which provide growth and opportunity for Clinical Trials vision and objectives which are consistent with the overall Health Service strategic direction and business plans.
Qualifications and Experience Required:
Essential
- Demonstrated high level of computer literacy including MS Office, Excel and Word, and other financial programs/tools that are used in the health sector and in health economic activity and analysis.
- Demonstrated strong customer service focus, business ethics and commitment to team work.
- Demonstrated competency in financial management including analysis, forecasting, budgeting, reconciliation, accounts receivable and payable using current information management tools.
- Demonstrated ability to identify commercial opportunities and to develop appropriate scoping/business plans.
- Highly organised with prioritisation of tasks in a busy environment whilst maintaining accuracy and high business ethic code of conduct.
- Experience working within the Health Sector.
- Experience managing contracts including liaising with legal departments.
- Experience with social media and marketing.
- Qualifications in business management or associated qualifications, diplomas, degrees or certificates; a Master of Business Administration would be viewed as an advantage.
- Annual performance development will be undertaken by the Director.
