Job description

Kelvin Grove State College invites applications from passionate and driven Business Managers to oversee the college's human resources operations. In this role, you'll collaborate with the College Business Manager, interpreting and analysing business plans to deliver corporate services. Your responsibilities include ensuring timely organisation support, identifying process improvement opportunities, supervising support staff, fostering a culture of quality service delivery through best practices, change leadership, and stakeholder influence.

About Role:

Responsibilities include, but not limited to:

  • Lead and manage human resources for school support staff (including the identification of emerging talent, promotion of excellent performance outcomes and mentoring individuals to achieve their professional potential); and provide advice on a diverse range of human resource management practices (e.g. employee relations, recruitment, payroll anomalies, performance management, etc.).
  • Provide operational advice and support to the college on a diverse range of human resource management issues, legislation and administration.
  • Supervise a team undertaking, and/or undertake administration for a range of human resources processes including workforce planning, workplace reform, recruitment and selection, and staff leave to review ensuring proper process and appropriate record keeping.
  • Review and implement, approved changes to the school's human resources service to ensure compliance with departmental policies, directives, and legislation.
  • Analyse school human resource data and provide reports on a range of human resource services including leave management, workforce planning, professional development, performance management, workplace rehabilitation and strategic planning associated with these services.
  • Monitor and administer the School Budget Solution (SBS) yearly profile, credits and usage, and staff leave.
  • Provide human resource assistance and support to all college staff for the interpretation of human resource entitlements, employment conditions, Awards, Certified Agreements

About You:

In this role as Business Manager you will be specifically leading the HR component for the college, your understanding of systems and processes in DET HR will be paramount.
