  • This is a temporary full time opportunity (38 hours per week) based in one of our beautiful North Melbourne (Meat Market) offices - contract until 31st January 2025.
  • $138,183 - $155,523 (dependent on skills & experience) + 11% Superannuation

About the Role & YIRRAMBOI Festival:

YIRRAMBOI, meaning tomorrow in the shared languages of the Boon Wurrung and Woi Wurrung (Wurundjeri) peoples of the Kulin Nations, invites applications for the role of a visionary Business Manager. YIRRAMBOI Festival is Melbourne's prestigious biennial First Nations festival, championing the continuous cultures and diverse contemporary practices of First Nations artists. Grounded in principles of First Nations leadership, new work, visibility & dialogue, and international collaboration, YIRRAMBOI brings its mission to life by producing and presenting programs, fostering independent artists, and nurturing creative projects in collaboration with cultural and community partners.

As the Business Manager, you will spearhead YIRRAMBOI's business, finance, marketing, and administrative systems. You'll be at the forefront of developing, implementing, and overseeing innovative systems, ensuring the festival's evolution, sustainability, and viability while optimising budget and resources.

We are looking for an individual with a proven background and deep insight into collaborating with First Nations processes and protocols. The role involves a high-level interface with internal stakeholders, fostering solid and collaborative relationships so an understanding of and ability to work with key stakeholders including artists, art organisations, peak arts bodies, community organisations and local interest and community groups is highly sought after.

What you will bring to City of Melbourne

  • Relevant tertiary qualification and/or demonstrated extensive experience in event / festival production and project management.
  • Demonstrated experience and understanding of working with First Nations process and protocol
  • Thorough knowledge and demonstrated experience in management and coordination of event operations and logistics, planning/scoping/design, risk management, emergency management, OH&S, resource deployment, major contract management, traffic management, festival operations systems, staffing systems and financial management.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop, manage and maintain business plans, programs, policies and associated resources, communications, governance, budgetary and financial management requirements.
