Exciting new role to provide support in the coordination and delivery of all health, safety, and training activities within the company

C&H Recruitment is partnering with our valued client that possesses over 50 years of experience in logistic, stevedoring, and integrated supply chain management for ocean cargos. They are headquartered in Townsville, Queensland with operations spanning throughout Queensland’s major port facilities including Gladstone, Mackay, Townsville, Cairns and Weipa.
For 2024, a new permanent position has been created for a diligent and results driven person to become responsible and accountable for the coordination and delivery of all safety and training activities within our client's business units. This is a hands on role, that will assist the Business Support Manager with Health, Safety and Training compliance requirements and safety / training initiatives.
Reporting to the Business Support Manager, this position will suit a candidate who has background experience or tertiary studies in Health & Safety or Training & Compliance. Your responsibilities will include but not limited to;
  • Coordinate and promote health and safety matters to the workforce through safety alerts, toolbox talks, posters and safety programs
  • Reviewing and creation of safety documentation such as JSA or work method statements and ensure they are implemented and managed correctly in accordance with the company Integrated Management System
  • Maintain company training matrix, competencies, online inductions, training records and scheduling of training requirements via the online system with ability to identify and forecast training needs to meet business requirements
  • Implementing and coordinating of HST (Health, Safety, Training) requirements via the online reporting system
  • Assist in quality and safety inspections and audits as required
  • Assist in incident investigations and outcomes
  • Complying with company Health, Safety, Environment and Training requirements by completing in-house training (theory and on-the-job/VOC’s), and engage in programs as required.
To be successful, the ideal candidate will possess;
  • Current C class drivers’ license
  • MSIC or the ability to obtain one
  • Cert IV in Training and Assessment
  • Forklift license – high risk LF
