About the role
The North region team is led by the north regional Group General Manager and is responsible for delivery of all operational and commercial functions including burial operations, direct sales of cemetery products and services, development of products and services to meet community need and management of cemetery inventory in the north.
The Business Support Officer will be responsible for providing administrative support to the Senior Supervisors in the north region in the areas of burial operations, horticulture, client services and funeral services.
Key responsibilities include:
- Providing assistance in day-to-day administrative support to the Group General Manager North, the Operations & Regional Business Partner and regional Senior Supervisors with respect to the completion of administration processes in a timely and efficient manner, with excellent attention to detail.
- Assist the Operations & Regional Business Partner with the implementation and utilisation of new processes, and provide reporting as directed from time to time by the Operations & Regional Business Partner.
- Assist with the completion of administrative tasks associated with the purchase and delivery of all products and services.
- Demonstrating a highly collaborative approach to building and maintaining productive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Implement effective and efficient processes which provide ongoing administrative support, including:
- Assisting with the preparation of detailed monthly statistics, reports and information as required.
- Provide administrative support to research projects.
- Maintain and retain accurate and up to date records of work undertaken in accordance with GMCT policies and procedures in a shared document management location with the Operations Business Partner.
- Assist with corporate events and project management assigned to the region.
- Participate in departmental leadership group meetings, including provision of performance reports, resource allocation, incidents and action logs.
- Assist with the response to client and customer concerns within acceptable timeframes.
- Maintain accurate files and records in a shared document management location, including licence & training in accordance with GMCT systems and procedures, and update the Operations & Regional Business Partner as required.
- Contribute to the co-ordination and management of team member uniform ordering, distribution and stock control.
- Assist with the coordination and management of GMCT pool car bookings.

Qualifications and experience
- Demonstrated experience in a similar or comparable role.
- Ability to effectively communicate at all levels.
- High level of interpersonal and communication skills and demonstrated ability to apply these with internal and external stakeholders.
- Understanding of, and commitment to, OHS practices which ensure a safe and healthy working environment for staff and the public.
- Ability to work well as part of a team.
