Role Overview:
Join our team as the Café Manager at Westminster Village Café on a Casual Basis! Reporting to the Hotel Services Manager, you’ll oversee daily operations, lead and train our Café Assistants, and ensure exceptional customer service. Your hands-on approach will ensure food and beverages are expertly prepared, and workstations remain spotless. We’re looking for a responsible, trustworthy individual who excels in managing resources and upholding high standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise Café staff to maintain high cleanliness standards for the facility and residents.
- Manage cleaning of appliances and workstations.
- Foster effective working relationships with all employees.
- Coordinate daily work allocations and ensure staff are adequately trained.
- Conduct quality audits and manage staff performance.
- Supervise daily duties and ensure work quality throughout the day.
- Manage table clearing and dishwashing operations.
- Communicate with suppliers regarding food ordering and stock management.
- Lead professional standards and continuous improvement in all Café areas.
- Organise Café staff schedules to meet daily staffing needs.
- Collaborate with Hotel Services Manager and People & Quality for recruitment and orientation.
- Provide training, guidance, and support to Café staff.
- Implement procedures for regular health and safety checks within the Café.
Skills & Experience:
- Certificate in Commercial Cookery III or experience in managing a Retail Food Operation.
- Current DHS NDIS Worker Screening Check (essential).
- Proven experience in hospitality in a café setting.
- Experience as a barista and preparing food.
- Experience in excellent customer service and service delivery.
- Experience leading a team of diverse people.
- Experience in managing inventory and using point-of-sale systems in a similar environment.
- Knowledge of hygienic practices based on council regulations.
