Qualifications & experience
- Minimum 2 years of proven experience as a Cafe Manager or similar role in the hospitality industry
- AQF Associate Degree or Advanced Diploma
- Food handling supervisor certificate
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team
- Passionate about delivering excellent customer service
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Flexibility to work weekends and holidays
- Knowledge of coffee preparation and barista skills
- Proficiency in computer software applications
Tasks & responsibilities
- As the Manager, you will oversee daily running, ensure excellent customer service, and maintain high standards of cleanliness and organisation.
- Monitor all aspects of day-to-day cafe operations, including opening and closing procedures, inventory management, and timely supply order
- Provide friendly and efficient customer service, promptly resolving any issues or complaints
- Coordinate with staff regarding their availability to create an effective roster and hire new staff as per seasonal demand
- Supervise the team and maintain regular communication to foster a positive and motivated work environment
- Train new staff on procedures, equipment usage and customer service standards
- Collaborate closely with the owners to introduce creative promotional ideas and contribute to strategic planning
- Maintain high standards of coffee and food quality, updating menu items based on customer feedback and seasonality
- Ensure compliance with Health and Safety Regulations and maintain cleanliness throughout the cafe
