Chocolatine Boutique Patisserie (Chocolatine Pty Ltd atf Chocolatine Family Trust) is looking for a full-time Cafe Manager to join our team.
We are a 40-seater café located in Caulfield North, Melbourne. We are open 6 days per week and are known for our delicious cakes, macarons, soft serve and pastries, and a relaxed setting for a coffee or a meal. We are looking for Café Manager who will responsible for managing front of house staff, the dining area, stock management and ensuring our customers receive the highest level of service.
Benefits38 hour week over 6 days.

Salary between $70,000 - $75,000 per annum exclusive of superannuation depending on experience.
Task & ResponsibilitiesDuties will include as follows:
- Leading, inspiring and engaging the food and beverage team
- Assisting with recruitment of front of house candidates, training front of house staff and maintaining a high level of supervision
- Updating and implementing of service standards for all staff
- Ensuring outstanding customer service at all times -encouraging staff to upsell in one with monthly event activations/promotions
- Cost effective staff rostering
- Stock management and record keeping
- Daily reconciliation and end of day reporting accurately communicating to head office regarding daily, weekly, month revenue reporting
- Assist in menu creation in consultation with the owner and Chef.
- POS & reservations software implementation and troubleshooting when needed
- Oversee the day to day running of the restaurant including branded activations, functions and special event days
- Sourcing of equipment & consumables for service
- With management team & director, contract and coordinate with suppliers to ensure the timely and efficient set-up and ongoing maintenance of the venue and in line with budgets
- Ensuring restaurant is presentable and all furniture is clean and sanitised
- Overseeing the set up & pack down of the restaurant
- Running a restaurant service shift from start to finish including assist in taking orders, checking food quality, making reservations, dealing with complaints and greeting customers
- Keep an updated register of all official documents needed for operations and cleaning logs -adhere and implement to the venues OH&S framework
- Lead by example and showcase a high level of outstanding customer service, positively handling all customer complaints and monitoring all feedback received through the reservation software and responding accordingly
Our future Café Manager will have:
- A relevant Diploma qualification is desirable plus 2 years of relevant experience as a Café Manager. Alternatively, 3 years of relevant experience as a Café Manager will suffice.
- Impeccable presentation
- Excellent communication and strong customer service skills
- Management/leadership skills, and interpersonal skills to inspire and motivate our front of house staff
- Ability to prioritise and manage multiple responsibilities
