Job description

We are a disability support provider that is targeted towards providing opportunities for individuals with mild to moderate disabilities, between the ages of 16-35. Founded in 2019, Stellar Experiences has grown from servicing just the one LGA in Sydney to a multi-state organisation across the east coast.

Our main services are targeted towards social outings (community-based events, music concerts, sporting days, festivals and everything in between). Additionally, we provide access to individual support workers (to work with more goal-oriented activities), weekly programs (swim club, gym sessions) as well as regional, interstate or international supported holidays.

General Duties

  • Exercise initiative in the application of established work procedures
  • Undertake responsibility for various activities in a clearly defined area of the business
  • Undertake planning and coordination of activities within a clearly defined area of the organisation
  • Establish goals/objectives and outcomes for own work area
  • Supervision of lower classified staff or volunteers in their day-to-day work
  • May be required to deal with formal disciplinary issues within the work area
  • Provide secretarial and/or administrative support requiring a high degree of judgment, initiative, confidentiality and sensitivity in the performance of work
  • Assist with or provide a range of record management services
  • Monitoring and undertaking tasks associated with relevant systems and procedures
  • Provide assistance to senior employees

Individual Supports

  • Develop and manage roster of support staff
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to support staff
  • Coordinate and monitor current supports being provided
  • Responding to and coordinating new support enquiries
  • Maintain open communication and relationships with guests and families
  • Mentor support staff in providing and maintaining goal-based, active support

Capacity Building Programs

  • Develop and manage roster of support staff
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to support staff
  • Coordinate and monitor current supports being provided
  • Responding to and coordinating new support enquiries
  • Ensure ongoing and timely communication to support staff
  • Maintain open communication and relationships with guests and families
  • Maintain open communication and relationships with other key stakeholders such as activity providers, meal venues
  • Identifying capacity for new program opportunities and establish these relationships within the community

Social Outings

  • Develop and manage roster of support staff
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to support staff
  • Coordinate and monitor current supports being provided
  • Responding to and coordinating new support enquiries
  • Ensure ongoing and timely communication to support staff
  • Ensure ongoing, open communication with administration staff in the planning and coordinating of social outings
  • Maintain open communication and relationships with guests and families
  • Maintain open communication and relationships with other key stakeholders such as activity providers, meal venues
  • Openly and collaboratively cooperate and communicate with colleagues in order to actively support guests needs and enable the achievement of goals and desired outcomes
  • Complete all required reporting and documentation requirements of shift and guest progress, as well as additional paperwork that is considered reasonable and necessary in accordance with shift events
  • Follow all of Stellar Experiences’ policies and procedures

Canberra Area Growth

  • Plan and show initiative in identifying potential opportunities for growth in the Canberra region
  • Showing initiative in networking and establishing relationships that can contribute to the growth and awareness of Stellar Experiences within the area
  • Work cohesively with other areas of the business to ensure active communication and marketing surrounding future areas of growth
