What you'll be doing
The Project Officer will assist in providing ‘Point of Contact’ for the Manager Capital Works and the project delivery team and the Hospital/Local Health District (LHD). The position will also provide assistance to the Manager, Capital Works in managing minor projects requiring high level management to plan and implement all tasks necessary to transition clinical and non-clinical services from their current operational environment to the new environment.
All NSW Health workers are required to have completed an up-to-date course of a COVID-19 vaccine (2 doses) which has been approved or recognised by the Therapeutics Goods Administration (TGA). This is a temporary full time position until 30 June 2026 with the possibility of an extension subject to funding.
Selection Criteria * Awareness of the process for management of Capital Works Projects with the ability to manage, supported by the Manager, Capital Projects, multiple complex tasks and to effectively lead individuals towards an outcome.
- Understanding and experience in interpreting drawings, floor plans, elevations etc. Management of Commissioning phases of hospital delivery projects would be highly desirable, but not essential.
- Knowledge of establishing and managing documentation and associated processes related to major projects.
- Demonstrated experience in clinical project management with the ability to prioritise competing demands and deliver outcomes within the project timeframes.
- Demonstrated high level oral and written communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with clinical staff, senior managers and external stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively both autonomously and as a member of a multidisciplinary team.
- High level computer literacy with the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Access and Powerpoint) including experience in managing healthcare information systems and providing reports using descriptive.
