  • Location: Based at Bilinga
  • Remuneration: $82,038.48 (pro-rata) + 11% Super + $15,900 NFP salary packaging

Your part in our UnitingCare Community team

UnitingCare Gold Coast Homelessness Service provides case management and support to clients who are homeless or at imminent risk of homelessness, to assist them to obtain immediate housing and work towards independent longer-term housing solutions.

We are currently looking for expressions of interest from humble, hardworking, emotionally intelligent, creative, and flexible team players to join our team as a Youth Case Worker.

Our Youth Case Worker works with young people who have moderate to extreme needs, supporting them with:

  • Finding appropriate housing
  • Reconnecting with family
  • Providing referrals such as for assisting with budgeting through financial counselling services
  • Accessing health care services
  • Any other needs that may be a barrier in gaining stable housing

In addition to the above your role will also include but not be limited to:

  • Maintaining a Case Load
  • Managing Day to Day appointments with the clientele
  • Completing case notes and verbal and written reports/audits as and when required

What makes a difference for us?  

To be successful in this role you will ideally have an understanding of the needs of the Youth Homeless population and knowledge and understanding of the different theories of practice.

Supplementing the above you will require qualifications and certificates:

  • A minimum of a diploma level qualification in human services, community services, Youth Services or related field; a degree is desirable.
  • Current Blue Card (or willingness to apply for one)
  • A current Driver Licence (Must be Open and valid licence - to be confirmed prior to offer of employment)
