The Food Services Assistant reports directly to the Hotel Services Manager and General Manager Residential and may be required to work in any of Cultura’s Food Services preparation/service areas.
They must follow all designated shift and area specified duties.
The Food Services Assistant is required to follow Cultura’s food safety plan, including completing documentation. They are required to liaise effectively with other Cultura staff, especially when duties involve interactions with residents, family members and other visitors.
Duties
▪ Preparation of vegetables, meals, snacks and fluids
▪ serving of snacks, breakfast and lunch;
▪ Set and prepare tables for breakfast and lunch;
▪ Cleaning and clearing after meals;
▪ Washing of dishes;
▪ Maintain hygiene and cleanliness in the dining room and kitchen;
▪ Receiving, recording and correct storage of food and kitchen supplies;
▪ Other duties as directed by the Food Services Team Leader, Head Chef or General manager
Residential.
Qualifications and experience
Essential
▪ Have an understanding of Basic Food Handling
▪ Understand and be able to follow food safety regulations and food safety plan.
▪ Manage time effectively to meet workplace schedule;
▪ Willingness to contribute as a team member to the creation and maintenance of a friendly
and warm living environment for all Cultura’s residents and families.
Desirable
▪ Hold a current ‘Food Handler’ certificate;
▪ Have an understanding of the migrant experience, with empathy and sensitivity to the needs
of the elderly from different cultural backgrounds;
▪ Languages other than English will be highly regarded;
▪ Have a current Victorian driver license.
