Job description
Robert Walters have partnered with a global FMCG organisation to support in the recruitment of a newly created Category Management position. The purpose of the Category Manager is to manage the procurement activities for a range of local categories in the ANZ region by delivery sourcing strategies to drive savings and improving the relationship with the suppliers.
Reporting into the ANZ Procurement and Supply Chain Manager, the Category Manager will:
Responsibilities:
Identify opportunities for cost savings in product categories, and lead the sourcing and qualification process of potential local suppliers
Procurement and management of assigned local categories in the ANZ region
Responsible for consistent delivery of the department strategy, and adhere to processes
Negotiate with supplier for best value pricing to improve profitability
Participate and conduct price negotiation
Prepare and distribute operational and KPI reports
Manage product trials/promotions and new product introductions in respective countries
Conduct reviews on distributor costing and make proposals for pricing of products
Reviews Distributor’s price computation for imported and domestic product lines
DC/Supplier partner claims and mediation's
Requirements:
Proven end to end category management experience
Strong supplier relationship management skills
Strategic and operational procurement experience with a solid knowledge of category management
Experience working in QSR or Food industry is highly desired
Ability to work well in a team environment as well as autonomously
