About the Opportunity
The Category Manager Australia will deliver category strategies, customer reviews, category sales plans and lead customer story development on key initiatives for assigned Clorox brands in the Australian market.
By focusing on these key deliverables, this role will serve as the category lead in key Clorox planning and commercial processes. This is a critical role in the context of both delivering a healthier core for the Australian business.
What You’ll Do
Execution of Category Strategy
- Generation of category insights that lead to the development of category growth drivers and opportunities.
- Support development of category strategy/plans, growth drivers & AMPS/AAA
- Lead for range reviews and customer meetings for assigned categories - Category Management, Strategy, Options & Recommendations, Planograms and Implementation.
- Lead customer story development on new product launches/innovation, key initiatives and priorities.
- Execution of best practice category strategies and insights-based projects.
- Lead and participate in category related strategic projects
Generate insights for category thought leadership & drive process improvement
- Lead CDC (Category Demand Creation) processs for assigned categories
- Category member of Neighborhood (Cross functional team) for assigned categories - provide Category expertise & influence to achieve commercial outcomes.
- Drive AMPS/AAA development & embed cross-functionally
- Develop promotional spending rigor for ROI
- Support ICP (Integrated Commercial Planning) process alongside Head of Category & Shopper
- Involvement in wider business process and projects
- Pricing – Monitor pricing strategy and competitor positioning
People Management
- Oversee all responsibilities for direct report
- Drive development of direct report with a view of succession planning
- Own the GPS@Clx (personal performance and career development) process for direct report (Category Analyst)
Who You Are
- Bachelor degree in Business or Marketing
- 3 to 5 years of experience in a Trade Marketing Manager/Category Manager or equivalent role
- Previous experience in delivering Category Reviews in the Australian Grocery environment
- Previous experience in people management ideal, but not essential
- Excellent stakeholder management skills
- Influencing skills to driving change
- The ability to partner effectively and work cross functionally
- Strong analytical ability – the ability to derive actionable insights from data.
- Process management / improvement skills.
- Effective written and oral communication skills.
- Effective planning and prioritization.
- Attention to detail (data integrity is key).
- Experienced in Quantium and IRI
- Ideally experienced in Nielsen
