About the roleWe are seeking a values-driven and proactive Catering Supervisor to lead the operations and administration for the kitchen.
This is a Casual position based in Dooralong, NSW. Salary and conditions are in accordance with SCHADS Level 3. The successful applicant will be reporting to the Alcohol and Other Drugs Services Manager.
You will successfully- Carry out duties in accordance with the policies, procedures, practices and Work Health and Safety (WHS) of The Salvation Army.
- Work in a professional and caring manner with all participants in a multidisciplinary environment (including always maintaining participant confidentiality).
- Prepare a high volume of meals in accordance with the guidelines and special dietary/religious/allergy requirements of participants (including minimizing waste, utilizing products donated, set own work priorities and use tools and time efficiently to meet work objectives)
- Meet and exceed required WHS, Food Safety and Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (HACCAP) as well as conduct relevant audits and report to management as required.
- Work in the kitchen and dining room to proper food handling requirements at HACCAP standards.
- Provide catering as required for on-site events.
- Facilitate the upskilling of participants in food preparation, cooking and serving.
- Collaborate with Team Leaders and staff on site and in partnership with kitchen staff, oversee work duties allocated to participants, report on duties performed and raise concerns for areas.
- Maintain records of participants participation in the kitchen and communicate with line management any areas of risks including the management of identified risks as directed from line management.
- A certificate IV in a relevant discipline (or working towards).
- NSW Driver Licence.
- 2 years minimum experience in kitchens
