POSITION DESCRIPTION
The purpose of the Finance Business Partner position is to support the Senior Finance Business Partner in stakeholder management, financial reporting and analysis, budgeting, forecasting and fee management of Hunter Community Housing and CatholicCare.
Partnering with the operational teams of Hunter Community Housing and CatholicCare, the position will provide comprehensive and accurate financial information, advice and guidance to support the ongoing growth and sustainability of Hunter Community Housing and CatholicCare and the individual programs that operate within the agencies.
The role will work closely with the wider finance department to influence and inform the operational accounting functions of the agencies. The position will play a leading role in the preparation of the multi-year budget and rolling forecasts, periodical financial reports and development of financial models to drive commercial and growth strategies.
The role will provide insightful analysis and sustainable solutions and advice relating to agency performance and will play an integral role in interpreting financial results and data to ensure Hunter Community Housing and CatholicCare operational managers understand the financial position of their programs and the agencies.
The incumbent commits to working within Work Health and Safety guidelines and Code of Conduct at all times whilst in the employ of the Catholic Diocese of Maitland-Newcastle.
EXPERIENCE/CRITERIA
- Minimum 3 to 5 years relevant experience in a similar role.
- Proven experience being the subject matter expert and adapting your communication style to inform various stakeholders (Business Partnering).
- Demonstrated ability to provide accounting expertise to develop budgets, forecasts and financial models.
- Experience in the successful provision and interpretation of financial reports and data for non-financial managers.
- Demonstrated analytical and strategic thinking skills and the ability to apply initiative with the ability to act with tact and discretion, maintaining high levels of confidentiality.
- Understanding and application of relevant accounting and auditing standards and a theoretical and practical understanding of taxation (FBT, GST).
- Strong attention to detail with a high level of accuracy and a demonstrated commitment to continuous improvement.
- Advanced MS Excel skills with financial modelling capabilities.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication (written and oral) and time management skills.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Broad business acumen with formal accounting qualification – CA/CPA qualified.
- Current Working With Children Check (WWCC).
- TechOne experience (Desirable)
- Experience within the social services sector and/or community housing e.g. Government funded child, youth and family programs and mental health, fee for service therapy services and community housing providers (Desirable)
