Café Gusto is a multifaceted business located in a leafy business park in the heart of Botany, we are a café Monday to Friday and transform in to an events space on Saturdays and Sundays.
The position:
an opportunity has arisen Chef Di Partie to join our team, ordinary hours will be full time with a flexible rostering system Monday to Sunday.
You will be require to lean the menu and pre routines from main Chef, utilizing your skills to assist in guiding the team through the day to day duties.
Duties will include but are not limited to:
- Working alongside head chef assisting in day to day cooking and prep duties
- Have a passion for food, assisting in daily chef cabinet rotating menu creations
- Preparing menu items to the high standard as set out by Head Chef.
- Ensure that the kitchen, all food prep areas and all food storage areas meet restaurant cleaning standards
- Monitor product freshness and rotate out old product based on a schedule created by the restaurant
Requirements and skills
- 2+ years of experience in a similar
- Understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment and procedures
- Ability to work on your feet for eight hours or more a day
- High level of professionalism
- Comfortable working with a team in a fast-paced kitchen environment
- Excellent verbal communication and organisation skills
- Excellent record of kitchen and staff management
