About the opportunity
An exciting opportunity for a passionate Chef De Partie to join the team at the Forum restaurant University of Sydney. Forum provides patrons with breakfast, lunch and take away services. With a great work environment and convenient working location on the University of Sydney Main Campus the Forum are ready to welcome a passionate Chef De Partie.
Your key responsibilities (but not limited to) will be to:
- assist in managing the kitchen in the absence of the Head Chef
- oversee food preparation, cooking and presentation in the restaurant
- troubleshoot any problems that may arise in the kitchen
- support the Head Chef on the daily kitchen operations and during catering events
- kitchen maintenance and cleanliness
- enforce safety, health and hygiene standards in the kitchen
About you
- Cert III Commercial Cookery and 2 years chef experience (Minimum) in similar role
- appreciation for consistency of food quality and presentation
- excellent communication skills and ability to work in a team environment
- TAFE Workplace Hygiene or Food Safety Supervisor Certificate or equivalent
- demonstrated ability to apply WH&S, HACCP processes and achieve high standards of food hygiene
- participate in the development of new dishes for the menu
- demonstrated reliability and ability to work unsupervised
- ability to work in a fast-paced environment
