Based in Mildura, MADEC Australia is a successful community owned not-for-profit and charitable organisation, with a proud 50+ year history of providing relief to people experiencing poverty and/or distress.  Employing around 340 staff and with a turnover circa $200m, MADEC achieves its corporate objectives by delivering in the areas of employment services, education and training, pacific labour mobility scheme, harvest trail services, and indigenous programs.  A rare opportunity has emerged for a Chief Executive Officer to lead this innovative and responsive community organisation. 

Reporting directly to and working closely with the Board, this unique and pivotal role will have responsibility for:

• proactively crafting, disseminating and delivering the overall vision and strategy for the organisation; 
• leading, motivating, mentoring and further developing the management team and dedicated staff;
• driving business growth, sustainability and viability through effective marketing, operational, financial and corporate governance initiatives underpinned by sensitivity to community needs;
• acting as the public face and champion for MADEC whilst maintaining important relationships with a wide variety of internal and external stakeholders, including key government agencies.

Applications are sought from accomplished senior managers ideally with experience in a comparable not-for-profit, employment services, education and/or community service environment and the leadership and business development skills necessary for a role of this type.  Strong management and strategic planning capabilities for a diverse and widespread organisation, together with superior communication, stakeholder management, leadership and negotiation skills, will also be essential requirements.
