About the role
Based in Melbourne and reporting to the Managing Director in Australia, we are seeking a CFO to lead the finance function of the business. The successful applicant will be is responsible for managing the financial aspects of the company’s activities. They are responsible for overseeing the team who will track cash flow, analyze strengths/weaknesses in the company’s finances, payroll, taxation, compliance and management reporting and overseeing all aspects of its financial performance.
Forming part of an experienced, driven and growing team your key responsibilities will include:
- Drive the company’s financial planning, budgeting and reporting activities
- Organize the communication of key financial figures to TTE Renewables headquarters on a monthly basis and ensure quality of data and comments provided.
- Manage submission of the company’s financial statements for inclusion in the quarterly consolidation process of TotalEnergies.
- Support decision making on investments by considering among other factors cash and, liquidity risks
- Control, evaluate and support decisions on the organization’s financial structuring, including special purpose vehicles for projects
- General responsibility for the financial situation of the business, which includes risk management to ensure the business is appropriately funded and can meet its liabilities
- Organize funding of the business and manage any finance or finance related products
- Manage insurance needs of the business and any insurance related products
- Supervise the broader finance team and extend supervision to finance related functions including Asset Management, Budget Management and Payroll
- Be the main point of contacts for tax matters
- Manage vendor relationships and ensure timely payments and compliance with vendor terms
- Prepare reliable current and forecasting reports to support management’s decision and information
- Set up and oversee the company’s systems and templates (payments, invoicing, forecasting, etc), and ensure fit for purpose
- Ensure compliance with the law and company’s policies
Leading and maintain strong relationships with HQ teams in Paris is also a key function of this role.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as CFO, ideally in renewable energy, or large infrastructure projects
- In depth knowledge of corporate financial law and risk management practices
- Understanding of the IFRS is advantageous
- Excellent knowledge of data analysis and forecasting methods
- Proficient in the use of MS Office and financial management software
- Ability to strategize and solve problems
- Strong leadership and organizational skills
- Excellent communication and people skills
- An analytical mind, comfortable with numbers
- BSc/BA in Accounting, Finance or relevant field is essential
- Holds CPA in Australia, or eligible for same
- MSc/MBA would be strongly regarded
