Chief Financial Officer (Cfo)

The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) will report directly to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and serve as a key member of the Bayley House Leadership Team. The CFO will oversee all financial operations, developing and implementing financial strategies aligned with Bayley House Strategic Plan and objectives. The CFO will also lead the outsourced IT service, Facilities & Maintenance and Quality, Risk and Compliance. 

Bayley Houses’ CFO will leverage financial acumen and strategic insight to provide guidance to the Leadership Team and Board on financial strategies aligned with Bayley House objectives. They will oversee financial operations, including planning, budgeting, risk management, driving continuous improvement and accountability. Additionally, the incumbent will ensure compliance with regulatory standards and promote financial transparency, drawing on their demonstrated track record in financial management and strategic decision-making.

Key Responsibilities of the role include:

• Actively participate in formulating Bayley Houses’ future direction and supporting tactical initiatives  
• Monitor and direct the implementation of strategic business planning  
• Provide comprehensive financial insights to key stakeholders across Bayley House, supporting informed decision-making
• Utilise data analytics and financial modelling techniques to generate actionable insights
• Develop and execute strategic initiatives to secure funding and drive sustainable growth
• Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements and implement effective controls and governance mechanisms to mitigate risks
• Oversee capital request and budgeting processes to maximise financial performance
• Develop models, systems, and processes that maximise the financial performance of all revenue streams  
• Continuously assess and address emerging risks to safeguard financial stability
• Lead efforts to identify inefficiencies in financial and IT processes, championing continuous improvement initiatives to streamline Bayley House operations

About You:

You are an accomplished financial leader with a deep understanding of financial principles and a proven track record of driving strategic financial initiatives for sustainable growth and innovation. Your strong leadership skills, analytical mindset, and adeptness at problem-solving enable you to build and lead diverse teams, drive collaboration, and foster a positive and continuous improvement culture. With expertise in financial management, compliance, and risk mitigation, you will ensure Bayley Houses adherence to regulatory standards while driving continuous improvement through process optimisation and innovation.

• Must hold CPA/CA or equivalent.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Business or Finance (highly desirable).
• Bring Executive or Senior Management experience within the Human Services Sector, ideally with NDIS expertise, but open to candidates with experience in healthcare or non-profit organisations.
• Demonstrated ability to develop and execute long-term financial strategies aligned with Bayley House objectives, driving sustainable growth and innovation.
• Proven ability to build and lead diverse teams, establish clear objectives, and foster collaboration and morale internally. 
• Experience engaging with stakeholders at all levels, achieving optimal outcomes.
• Expertise in budget development, expenditure monitoring, and risk management.
• Demonstrated ability to develop and execute long-term financial strategies.
• Significant experience providing sound financial management practices to plan, forecast, and manage budgets effectively.
• High level interpersonal skills. 
• Analytical and logical thinking and presentation skills.
• Proven ability to identify issues, propose solutions, and implement strategies to drive effectiveness.
• Advanced computer skills, including financial systems

Essential

• CPA or CA qualification 
• Sound understanding of social policy, disability/NDIS and/or community/NFP/Charity sector and/or related areas of work. 
• NDIS Worker Screen and Working with Children Check
