About the role
We are looking for a talented CFO with a proven track record working in a complex high-end manufacturing start-up environment. Someone who is ready to play a key role in shaping short and long-term strategic company plans, evaluating significant business opportunities and has experience raising capital and non-dilutive financing, including M&SA and IPO experience.
Responsible for the management of accurate financial budgets and planning, the role requires deep expertise in providing financial advice and the development and implementation of financial modelling, processes and systems that ensure our adherence to all financial and regulatory obligations and ensure the financial success of the organisation.
Main purpose of the role:
- Providing strategic financial recommendations and reports to the CEO, Board and members of the executive team
- Lead the finance function & oversee the production of all financial reporting and statutory accounting.
- Budgeting, forecasting, modelling & analysis
- Management of audit processes
- Develop and implement financial systems and processes that deliver operational reports to drive business performance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Build, lead and manage the finance team
- Contribute to the organisations financial and operational strategy including advice and recommendations on IPO, M&A and other business opportunities
- Lead financial and accounting activities and reporting including financial planning, analysis, cash and expense management; asset management; audit and taxation matters; and the management and review of internal financial controls.
- Analyse and evaluate financial performance, identifying opportunities for growth, optimisation, and risk mitigation.
- Control risks to Company capital and earnings and develop processes and systems that identify and minimise risk exposure.
- Prepare financial information including annual budgets, financial reports and statements and ensure the Company meets all statutory reporting obligations.
- Advise senior management on financial opportunities, risks and performance; provide advice, modelling and support to senior leaders on financial management; develop budgets and resource allocations.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with external partners and investors through the preparation of financial reports, prospectuses, board and company reports and updates.
Qualifications, Skills, And Experience:
To be considered for this role you must be a qualified CA/CPA accountant and demonstrate the following:
- CA/CPA qualified with a bachelor’s or master’s degree in finance, Business Administration, Accounting, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a CFO or in a similar executive finance leadership role in a startup, complex manufacturing, or other relevant fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrated experience in raising capital and non-dilutive financing, including M&A and IPO.
- Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to build and lead an effective finance team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with all stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to analyse and evaluate financial data and metrics, with a deep understanding of finance analytics and tools.
- Experience in developing and implementing financial strategies, financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting.
- Strong business acumen and financial acuity, with the ability to provide insights and recommendations to support strategic decision-making.
- Experience in R&D Tax management/ESOP Management would be beneficial.
