Indesco is an engineering consultancy that has been operating for 40 years. We employ over 100 people across six locations in Canberra, Parramatta, Wollongong, Newcastle, Melbourne & Brisbane. We provide Civil, Structural, Façade & Traffic Engineering services across a range of sectors including land development, residential, commercial, industrial education & health. We have a strong reputation for delivering quality, innovative design solutions across all areas of practice.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

The Chief Operating Officer (COO) will play a pivotal role in the strategic and operational leadership of the organisation. Reporting directly to the Board of Directors, the COO is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations, driving operational excellence, and ensuring the effective implementation of  business strategies.

This is a unique opportunity to work with the Board to drive the growth of the business. You will have experience at the executive level in a privately owned business and the energy and drive to make change happen.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide strategic direction and leadership to ensure the efficient and effective operation on the business
• Work closely with the Board to contribute to the development and execution of the organisation’s strategic plan
• Collaborate with cross functional teams to streamline processes and enhance operational efficiency
• Set goals and priorities, establishing performance measures to ensure progress is being made
• Lead and advise on best practice in governance, risk management and compliance
• Coordinate with the Finance team on the financial performance of the business
• Develop and mentor a high performing team fostering a culture of collaboration, initiative and accountability
• Identify opportunities for expansion and diversification in existing and new markets

• A strategic thinker who can see the future and contribute to long term business success
• Inspiring leader with the ability to motivate and guide teams towards goals
• Strong analytical skills, business acumen and a commitment to success
• Ability to drive change and implement process improvements
• Financial acumen and budget management skills
• Experience in the industry related to the organisation's operations is preferred
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in business administration, Operations Management, or a related field
