The Organisation
Silky Oaks Childcare Centre is a not-for-profit community based centre providing programs for children from birth to five years. As a long day care centre, we offer a Kindergarten program, large outdoor play areas, high worker-to-child ratios, and individualised educational programs for all age groups.
The Centre is located in Manly West, Queensland and operates Monday to Friday from 7am to 6pm.
The Position
We are seeking an experienced Administration and Accounts Assistant for a fixed term contract for up to six (6) months.
This role could be a full-time equivalent role for up to 38hrs per week but could also be negotiated as a part-time or casual role, if the candidate successfully proves their experience within the sector and software portals.
- The purpose of this role is to provide accurate and effective administrative, and accounts support to the service while we're recruiting new educators, assistant educators and management in our new season of growth.
- Hourly rate negotiable within advertised range based upon the candidate meeting the advertisement criteria.
- This role will report to the Director and Acting Assistant Director of the service.
Role Responsibilities
These will include, but not be limited to:
- Monitor and maintain currency of family and child records via the online QikKids/Xplor portal.
- Ensure all families have completed their online enrolments accurately, ensuring they link in their MyGov account to be approved to receive the Child Care Subsidy.
- Maintain the Child Care Subsidy System to ensure compliance for the centre.
- Liaise with management, accounts team members, and families/carers to keep all accounts, payments, and administration related matters up to date.
Role requirements
- A current Working with Children Check (Blue Card).
- Previous experience in an admin and accounts role, with experience in a Childcare Centre or OSHC environment being highly advantageous.
- Advanced computer literacy skills, experience using Qikkids/Xplor and Microsoft 365 would be highly advantageous.
- Exceptional attention to detail, organisational and time management skills.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Professional presentation.
- A team orientated approach with the ability to work collaboratively with all stakeholders of the service.
- The ability to take initiative and uphold a positive attitude.
- Availability to attend to all staff training events, if/when applicable (currently our staff meetings are held monthly after hours, and are paid).
