Based in Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne, Perth, or Tasmania, the C&I Account Manager is responsible for managing a portfolio of high value corporate and industrial customers within the National Electricity Market. The C&I Account Manager has responsibility for managing all aspects of account management, customer acquisition and retention along with developing mutually beneficial relationships, between customers and the Shell Energy group.
The C&I Account Manager reports to the C&I Sales Manager.
Lead the change, from the frontline
With honesty, integrity and respect, you will:
- Achieve acquisition and retention targets as outlined in the incumbent's performance agreement;
- Provide superior account management to a portfolio of C&I accounts;
- Identify sales opportunities and convert leads to contracts through phone and face to face selling;
- Produce high quality bids and RFP responses in line with customer requirements;
- Prepare customers for onboarding and transfer once the sales process is complete;
- Build productive relationships with brokers to ensure high retention and new sales conversion rate;
- Ensure Shell Energy’s Sales’ KPIs are achieved; and
- Negotiate retail electricity and gas agreements within risk management policies.
What you’ll bring
Here’s what you’ll need to thrive in this role:
- Demonstrated success in a sales environment, preferably within the electricity industry;
- Significant experience and success in account management and sales acquisition with a focus on the bottom line;
- Demonstrated knowledge of sales process and methodologies with a proven ability to “close a deal”, that is mutually rewarding for both parties;
- Excellent attention to detail;
- Good understanding of small and large market electricity pricing across the NEM;
- Intermediate Excel skills;
- Thorough knowledge of Shell Energy’s service offering namely the Customer Portal, Energy Services and tariff reviews;
- Ability to enact high level negotiations;
- Ability to create work and leads and opportunities without direction;
- Ability to perform under pressure and deliver commercially sound outcomes;
- Willingness to travel interstate and intrastate and a flexible approach to work hours;
- Demonstrated high level of communication and the ability to enact high level negotiations;
- Detailed knowledge of structured products and alternative contracting considerations;
- Detailed knowledge of how the electricity market works; and
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
