Civil Estimator (Junior/ Intermediate)

About the Company
This New Zealand owned and operated company has over 30 years in business and developed a strong and consistent relationship with their customer base. They engage in a diverse and interesting portfolio of ongoing projects in commercial construction, high voltage switchyards, earthworks, drainage among others. Due to a significantly increased workload, they are seeking a Christchurch based Civil Estimator /QS to join our team.
 
The Role
The successful candidate will report to the Senior Quantity Surveyor on a variety of small and large projects across Christchurch and the South Island. Some of your key responsibilities will include:

• Conduct measurement of civil works, including drainage and concrete structures.
• Produce accurate and timely cost estimates for various civil construction projects.
• Handle valuations/pricing of projects, client tender notices, and information requests.
• Evaluate and negotiate subcontractor and supplier bids for competitive pricing.

Qualifications and Experience

• Have relevant tertiary level qualifications (or industry specific experience to a similar degree),
• Have relevant experience in civil construction estimating,
• Have excellent communication and negotiation abilities,
• Have a high degree of accuracy, timeliness, and attention to detail to prepare estimates for internal review and submission.
