Are you looking for your next role with a leading civil construction company in Sydney? We are working with a highly experienced and renowned firm who have a healthy share of projects within the local government as well as a number for private portfolio contracts.
We are looking for an enthusiastic Project Manager who will look after civil construction projects for the business. Must have good understanding of drainage, roadway construction, resurfacing, pathways, paving and pavements. Ideally will also have experience within construction sites overseeing piling, earthworks, and structural works for new builds. We have 3 positions available across either government or construction developments. A strong knowledge in both is advantageous for fast track career progression. Willingness to learn and shadow in other areas also indicates strong promotion opportunity.
The responsibilities will include:
- Manage major projects throughout Sydney’s local government area &/or manage major projects within the construction, new build development area of the business
- Co-ordinate and liaise with on-site employees and stakeholders for various projects
- Lead overall team and work to set objectives over agreed timeframes
- Provide senior management regular updates on progress
- Assess construction materials and costs by analysing and interpreting drawings and specifications.
- Assess and advise on project costs for on site labour, material and other spend
- Understand and discuss engineering designs and drawings
- Monitor and implement safety procedures in line with HSE regulatory compliance
- Monitor and drive project progress
- Ensure that works are delivered to specification
- Responsible for quality control documentation and update records on internal software
- Problem solve, communicate effectively and ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget
Role requirements:
- Bachelor in Civil Engineering or higher (or relevant similar)
- Demonstratable work experience in Civil Engineering for more than 2 years in this role
- Ability to develop & maintain systems and procedures
- Ability to meet strict deadline
- Good understanding of WH&S
- Driver’s Licence
- Good understanding of AutoCAD
