Your new company
We have partnered with a large government department client to assist in their search for someone with a financial background suitable for the role of a Claims Officer. Reporting to the team leaders and working in a large team environment, the role will focus on reviewing and approving eligible expenditure, ensuring accurate and timely processing of claims and invoice acquittals.
The role is based in Como and is currently a temporary assignment to 30 June 2024 with extension possibilities. Ideally, you will be immediately available and ready to start as soon as possible.
Your new role
As a Claims Officer, your responsibilities will include:
- Review and approve eligible expenditure, ensuring accurate and timely processing of claims
- Liaise with stakeholders in relation to reimbursement of claims.
- Coordinate requests and prepare financial reports
- Report all health and safety hazards, near misses and injuries.
- Undertake other duties as required.
What you'll need to succeed
Previous experience as an assistant accountant/finance officer or a background in insurance / claims role would be suitable. You will also have:
- Sound communication skills, both written and verbal
- Invoice acquittal and reconciliation experience
- Broad knowledge and application of financial management policy and procedures
- Analytical, problem-solving and organisation skills
