The Client Development Director is responsible for client engagement strategies for both prospective and current clients using investment consulting services leading to new client and FUM growth in multi-manager trusts.
Key Responsibilities:
- Identify and develop relationships with potential clients;
- Drive tender response strategies to win new business;
- Drive current client retention and growth strategies;
- Promote and grow the brand through marketing initiatives;
- Apply a strategic approach to sales activities (aligned with business focus and objectives);
- Manage relationship development and 'long cycle' sales process targeting wholesale/institutional investors across the Wealth, NFP and Insurance client base;
- Manage complex sales processes driving strategy around tenders, site visits, presentations;
- Close new business deals and manage commercial negotiations;
- Prepare and present strategy and progress to senior leaders, demonstrating strong understanding of the investor channels, status of new/existing business and actions required for success AND
- Maintain a disciplined approach to sales, record progress notes and maintain the database of client contacts in our CRM; in line with core operating procedures and compliance requirements.
- Demonstrated expertise with 7-10 + years of business development/strategic growth experience in a B2B complex sales environment;
- Tertiary qualification in a relevant field, preferably in Business, Commerce, or Finance;
- Demonstrated expertise with of sales experience in investment management, wealth management, superannuation or a related industry;
- In-depth knowledge of funds management products;
- Relationship management experience at executive, board, and senior level;
- Marketing experience is an advantage;
- Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills;
- Ability to produce impactful messaging/proposal/presentations;
- Strong organisational skills and close attention to detail;
- Work flexibly and supportively with colleagues;
- Conform with all internal operating policies and procedures relevant to the position;
- Motivated by a desire for growth AND
- The ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
