About Better Together Community Support
Better Together Community Support is a local, well-established not-for-profit organisation dedicated to providing essential services to the community of the Atherton Tablelands. Located 1.5 hours from Cairns, North QLD. Better Together employ a range of highly skilled staff across a broad range of areas including social work, community development, aged care services, psychology and counselling. From counselling for families, young people, and the elderly, through to delivering Aged Home Care Support within the Better Together at Home program, we strive to make a meaningful impact on the lives of those we serve.
About the role
As a member of the Client Intake Team you will work under general direction to perform tasks related to the Client Intake Team. These activities include, but are not limited to:
- Monitoring Better Together Admin Email inbox.
- Arranging appointments.
- Bookings for cars/rooms/resources.
- Processing of all incoming referrals.
- Phones
- Data collection.
- Ad hoc coverage or reception at the ACC providing advice, information, and referral for clients.
- Be client-focused and enhance awareness of Better Together services and how we can help by maintaining a warm and welcoming atmosphere for clients, both in person and in the reception.
- Full time or Permanent Part time (0.8FTE) negotiable.
- Achieve outcomes which are clearly defined.
- Respond to enquiries.
- Assist Coordinator with special projects.
- Understand and know established work practices and procedures relevant to your work area.
- Provide client support requiring the exercise of sound judgment, initiative, confidentiality, and sensitivity in the performance of work.
- Perform tasks of a sensitive nature including the provision of more than routine information, the receiving and accounting for money and assistance to clients.
- Assist with office administrative functions.
- Provide backup and support in the workplace (as required) to maintain services to clients and to the general public.
- Ensure accurate, timely data entry recording work performed according to reporting requirements, the Records Management Procedures Manual and the Client Intake Procedures Handbook.

Qualifications
- Related qualifications at the certificate level or equivalent experience.
- Open Australian Driver’s Licence.
- Police Check and Blue Card, or ability to obtain.

Demonstrated Experience
- Preparing correspondence, documents, and record-keeping.
- Using databases and other ICT infrastructure.

- Managing clients who are having difficulties.
