Clinical Midwifery Educator

Permanent Part Time – 32 hours per fortnight

As a Midwifery Educator at MDHS you will responsible for delivering education across the full scope of midwifery practice to our midwifery team as well as a program of maternity education to our registered nursing workforce. Within this role there also exists the opportunity to combine your passion for education with your love of clinical practice and to support our MGP & RN workforce with modelling quality clinical care and mentorship whilst providing direct clinical care to maternity patients.

KEY SELECTION CRITERIA

Essential

• Current qualification and Registration as a Midwife with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
• RANZCOG Fetal Surveillance Education Program (FSEP) Level 3 practitioner.
• A Certificate IV in Training and Assessment or equivalent is highly desirable (or willingness to achieve the same).

Technical/Professional Knowledge and skills

• Minimum 5 years post-graduate experience in midwifery.
• Demonstrated competence in all elements of the midwifery continuum including assessment, planning and evaluation of care.
• Demonstrated knowledge and personal philosophy of working in partnership with a woman and her family to ensure they are empowered and informed to make fully informed decisions and are valued participants in their own care.
• Experience in developing and implementing systems and processes that guide the novice practitioner to competence and then to expert

Desirable

• Leadership Disposition: Demonstrating the traits, inclinations, and dispositions that characterize successful leaders; exhibiting behaviour styles that meet the demands of a leader role
• Self-management: invites feedback on own behaviour and impact; uses new knowledge or information about self to build a broader understanding of own behaviour and the impact it has on others
