Clinical Midwifery Educator
Permanent Part Time – 32 hours per fortnight
Classification: Dependent on Experience - Registered Nurse Year 1 – 3 and Subsequent
Award: Nurses and Midwives (Victorian Public Sector) (Single Interest Employers) Enterprise Agreement 2020 - 2024
Maryborough District Health Service (MDHS) in Maryborough, Victoria is looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Midwifery Educator for our maternity services team.
This is your opportunity to join our team on an exciting journey with the health service and our local community with Maryborough District Health Services Maternity Care.
As a Midwifery Educator at MDHS you will responsible for delivering education across the full scope of midwifery practice to our midwifery team as well as a program of maternity education to our registered nursing workforce. Within this role there also exists the opportunity to combine your passion for education with your love of clinical practice and to support our MGP & RN workforce with modelling quality clinical care and mentorship whilst providing direct clinical care to maternity patients.

KEY SELECTION CRITERIA
Essential
  • Current qualification and Registration as a Midwife with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
  • RANZCOG Fetal Surveillance Education Program (FSEP) Level 3 practitioner.
  • A Certificate IV in Training and Assessment or equivalent is highly desirable (or willingness to achieve the same).
Technical/Professional Knowledge and skills
  • Minimum 5 years post-graduate experience in midwifery.
  • Demonstrated competence in all elements of the midwifery continuum including assessment, planning and evaluation of care.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and personal philosophy of working in partnership with a woman and her family to ensure they are empowered and informed to make fully informed decisions and are valued participants in their own care.
  • Experience in developing and implementing systems and processes that guide the novice practitioner to competence and then to expert
