This is a Recruitment Pool for Permanent Full Time, Permanent Part Time, Fixed Term Full Time, Fixed Term Part Time and Casual appointments, with the possibility of extension(s) and/or permanency.

Position Profile: We are seeking suitably experienced persons to join our Diabetes and Endocrinology department at Perth Children's Hospital.

In collaboration with the Clinical Nurse Manager, the Clinical Nurse (CN) is responsible for delivery of high standard nursing care as it relates to research using the Scope of Nursing Practice Decision Making Framework. The Clinical Nurse conducts research (under supervision) which is ethically and scientifically sound and influences clinical practise within the department. The successful candidate will manage a diverse range of studies in the field of diabetes management and risk. 

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Provide a comprehensive evidence based nursing care to a specific group of patients within the area of specialty.
  • Undertake clinical shifts at the direction of senior staff including participation in after hours and/or weekend roster if required.
  • Provide clinical support and assist with the direction, orientation and education of parents, caregivers, colleagues, medical, nrising allied health support staff, external agenies and the private sector to provide coordinated multidisciplinary care.
  • Collaborating with the Telethon Kids Institute research team, the clinical team of the Department of Endocrinology & Diabetes, and collaborators as necessary.
  • Recruitment of participants.
  • Care of participants at study visits, and follow-up care as required.
  • Study data collection as per ICH-Good Clinical Practice guidelines using paper case report forms &/or electronic report forms.
