About the Role
Are you a registered midwife seeking to work within a supportive, compassionate team environment, with access to regular in-house Midwifery Education?
Gippsland Southern Health Service is currently recruiting for dual certificate midwives to be part of our General Ward team. The Maternity unit has 1 birthing suite and three birth and stay rooms, facilitating 175-200 births per year and enjoys a wonderful reputation for providing the best birthing experience for women in our community.
We provide a low risk, GP/Midwife shared care model and have GP Obstetricians and Anaesthetists on call 24/7 for epidurals and elective or emergency LUSCS. The roster is 8:8:10, with rotation through all shifts, with a focus on fairness and work life balance.
About You
The successful applicant will possess the following:
Current registration with NMBA/AHPRA.
Current FSEP/Neonatal resuscitation.
Demonstrated practice within ANCI competencies and Codes of Ethics/Professional conduct.
Evidence of ongoing self-development & well developed clinical skills.
Prepared to work rotating day/night/weekend shifts.
Ability to time-manage and work in a busy ward environment.
Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and consultatively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Good written and oral communication skills.
Current Victorian driver’s licence will be required for Domiciliary Visits.
Staff have access to supportive staff mentoring, education and development programs. Salary Packaging is available for all staff. The successful applicant will be required to provide a current satisfactory police check.
