Clinical Research Data OfficerThe Kirby Institute

  • Employment Type: Full-time (35 hour week)
  • Duration: 12 month fixed term contract
  • Remuneration: $106,351 - $115,103 + 17% Super and leave loading
  • Location: Kensington, NSW (Hybrid working, work from home and from UNSW Sydney campus)
  • Full Australian working rights required for the duration of the contract

Why Your Role Matters:

As a Data Officer, you will be responsible for maintaining data quality control and management (such as data cleaning, data query resolution, data mapping and database design, development, implementation) and continued functioning of electronic databases to facilitate the conduct of research studies. You will work with various electronic databases such as REDCap database, Medrio Electronic Data Capture (EDC) system, and online survey platforms such as Qualtrics, across different research projects to provide data solutions for clinical data collection and study management.

The role reports to the Senior Clinical Project Coordinator and has no direct reports.

Who You Are:

  • Graduate biomedical science qualifications, computer, public health, or other medical qualifications including nursing and epidemiology with relevant experience in the conduct of Clinical Research. Previous experience in HIV research or other infectious diseases clinical trials would be an advantage.
  • Demonstrated experience with study database (such as REDCap database, Medrio EDC system or other study databases design and build.
  • Demonstrated experience in complex data management, data cleaning, data query resolution and data mapping including producing customised reports.
  • Experience in programming language such as SQL, statistics language such as SAS, SPSS, or Stata, or have a desire or ability to quickly learn Stata.
  • Knowledge of International Council for Harmonisation Good Clinical Research Practice Guidelines (ICH GCP).
  • Excellent Interpersonal skills, verbal and written communication skills, organisational skills, and ability to prioritise own workload and work independently as well as an effective member of a team.
  • Previous experience in Hepatitis C research or other infectious diseases clinical trials would be an advantage.
  • Experience in advanced technical statistical data management and programming skills.
