This role will see you enhance your capabilities and the reputation of WSP’s Mine Closure team. You will collaborate with talented professionals working on iconic projects to drive future-ready outcomes that will benefit clients and communities.
As a Closure Planner, support mine decommissioning, mitigate environmental impacts & undertake environmental rehabilitation work. The successful candidate will be Perth-based & join a team of industry leaders.

Mining
Our global team of over 5,200 dedicated mining professionals are supporting the industry to decarbonise mining operations in the accelerating green transition. Working collaboratively across borders and disciplines, you’ll join a leading team working on interesting and complex projects. We are experts in our field, and we are passionate about mining.
What you’ll do:
- Be guided by senior scientist, engineer and consultant team members, to conduct mine/asset closure project work.
- Assist in the preparation of closure documentation, including mine rehabilitation and closure plans, closure risk assessments, and cost estimates for a range of mining, oil and gas, and resource projects.
- Collaborate on small, medium and large closure studies nationally and internationally.
- Prepare high quality reports, undertaking data reviews, collation and gap analyses.
- Support the preparation of mine closure proposals.
- Undertake field assignments as required.
- Conduct work to satisfy all company, client and government conditions, policies, procedures, regulations and standards and other duties as required.
- Uphold WSP's SHEQ standards at all times.
About You
- Hold a qualification in Environmental Engineering, Science or related discipline.
- Possess excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Take ownership of work produced.
- Possess excellent time management skills.
- Proven ability to work in a diverse and energetic team.
- Possess strong analytical and problem solving skills.
- Proven ability to work both independently and effectively within a team environment.
