Our Precision Tooling (PT) Department is based in King’s Park, Sydney and forms a part of the Global Moulding Function. Within the Precision Tooling Department, we are working to deliver high quality LSR injection moulds and automation to our internal customers using the latest industrial technology.
We are seeking a seasoned CNC Machinist to join our team. If you have a background in Toolmaking, high precision CNC machining, or mould making, we want to hear from you!
At PT, the CNC Machinist plays a crucial role. They skillfully and thoughtfully program, set up, and operate our CNC machines. Precision, quality, adaptability & problem solving are the cornerstones of our work.
Let’s talk about Responsibilities
- Operate CNC Machines: Setup, run & efficiently operate CNC Mills, Lathes, EDM sinker and Wire-cutting machines to produce high quality components.
- CAM Creation: Create & verify complex CAM toolpaths.
- Manufacturing Schedule & Strategy: Utilize the manufacturing schedule and strategy to ensure timely delivery of parts within specifications.
- Troubleshoot & Improve: Diagnose issues, fine tune machining parameters & optimise workflow for enhanced precision and efficiency.
- Quality Assurance: Maintain a high standard of parts that pass on the first attempt.
To succeed in this role, you will have the following –
- 5 years' experience in Toolmaking, specializing in CAM programming for mould tooling
- Proficiency in CNC milling with 5 years of experience
- Strong understanding of CNC machining, CAD/CAM, and cutter technologies
Preferred:
- CAM programming qualifications
- Experience with High Precision and 5-axis CNC Milling Machines
- Familiarity with machining hardened steel and Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM)
