The Coastal and Marine Project Officer will provide an instrumental role in delivering and facilitating project level activities that achieve against the goals of the Coastal and Marine Program, and Narvis. This will be achieved throughout the NAR; and develop and support local partnerships.
Under the Programs and Operations Manager’s supervision, this role will work with the NACC NRM team to plan, deliver, and report strategic Coastal and Marine projects in the region. The role will focus on increasing community skills, knowledge and engagement, and delivering community driven conservation activities and monitoring, in both urban and remote Coastal and Marine environments.
Based in Geraldton, the Coastal and Marine Project Officer will work closely with landholders, the community, Local Government Authorities, State Government agencies, industry and other natural resource management (NRM) professionals, to ensure project activities are being achieved and aligned to the project outcomes. This will be through the effective delivery of services on-time and within budget. The Coastal and Marine Project Officer will be expected to travel extensively throughout the NAR to fulfil the duties of the role.
The Coastal and Marine Project Officer’s responsibilities include:
- Contribute to effective identification, attainment, and delivery of project activities. Key elements to achieve this are: Identify Objectives; Implement key measureable activities; Stakeholder engagement; and contribute to project-related Communications, including reporting.
- Developing funding applications and/or facilitating the development of partnerships to deliver project services and activities that support the goals of the Coastal and Marine Program, and Narvis
- Support increased involvement of regional stakeholders in NACC NRM activities.
- Ensure the community and key stakeholders are engaged with, and aware of, NACC NRM project activities. Develop and maintain stakeholder networks that advance Coastal and Marine Program and project outcomes.
