Founded in 1881 by the Marist Brothers, St Joseph’s College is a boarding and day secondary boys’ school, whose Catholic identity is shaped by Marist spirituality and traditions. Governed by Marist Schools Australia, the College enrolment is approximately 1,100 students.
The Receptionist works as a member of the College’s Professional Staff, which is inspired at all times by the highest Marist ideals of Marcellin Champagnat. The function of the Professional Staff is to deliver a broad range of services to support the College’s educational mission. Within that context, the role of the Receptionist focuses primarily on providing an effective and professional interface between the College, parents and members of the general public.
General duties include:
• Operation of the College switchboard
• Responding to telephone enquiries
• Franking and posting afternoon mail
• Arrange distribution of incoming mail and couriers to the staff post boxes
• Booking couriers/taxis
• Handling cash
• Maintaining the electronic register of visitors for guests and outside contractors
The successful applicant will demonstrate a high degree of customer service, excellent communication skills, ability to prioritise tasks and work independently. All applicants for the above position must be supportive of the Catholic ethos and tradition of the College.
