Working as a Commercial Manager at Quickway is Exciting
Quickway has been delivering major infrastructure projects across NSW for the past 17 years. We specialise in Roads & Bridges, Concrete Structures, Tunnels, Rail, Communications, Electrical, Water and Traffic Management. We have been working directly for Transport NSW for the past 6 years, from remote areas to major urban projects.
About the Role:
As the Commercial Manager at Quickway you will take the lead on a new multi-million dollar utility project in the Sydney region. This position will initially be based in our head office at Silverwater and will transition to the site-based office. The Commercial Manager will manage the commercial function on the project while supporting and working closely with the project team. Our ideal candidate will have a strong commercial acumen with advanced negotiation, influencing and stakeholder management abilities which will be supported by a high level of verbal and written communication skills. Your expertise in commercial will see you prepare, negotiate and finalise subcontract packages, manage variations and EOT/Delay claims/ program analysis, control commercial costs, cash flow, budgets and forecasting activities.
What you will bring:
- Tertiary qualification in Quantity Surveying or related field (essential) Post degree legal qualification (preferable)
- Minimum 12 years of experience in the construction industry with at least 7 years as a commercial/contracts manager desirable.
- Proven commercial management experience working on large utility projects under GC21 / NEC4 type contracts
- A positive and proactive approach to safety and the ability to instil and lead a safety culture
- Excellent client relationship building, problem-solving, advanced negotiation and leadership skills
- Ability to read and understand contract documents, drawings and scope
- Advanced skills in procedures for project contract administration, general business administration and project management
- Proficient level of knowledge of construction management / ERP software (preferably Jobpac) and Microsoft office (essential)
