Permanent - Part Time
Canberra
The Communication Officer creates, edits and maintains high-level written content (including media releases, e-newsletters, blogs, copy for websites, brochures, flyers and publications) in line with the CRCS Style guide and Communication strategy, implements the CRCS social media strategy, implements and reviews digital advertising strategies and assists the Design & Content Specialist to determine appropriate graphic design for products. The role is responsible for coordinating and implementing communication and marketing campaigns, with support from the Marketing and Communication Manager, and will engage with programs and services teams on key activities, events and messaging.
Essential qualifications, skills and experience
Tertiary qualifications in communication, marketing or related field, or a minimum of three years experience in such a field
Ability to write clearly, concisely and engagingly for a range of professional and community audiences, including those for whom English is a second language, and tailor writing to a range of digital platforms.
An eye for detail and ability to ensure all communications are correct, consistent, and in line with organisational style.
Proficiency with Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram and back-end social media management tools.
Experience in developing, editing and publishing EDMs.
Experience with digital marketing in Google and Meta.
Knowledge of CMS such as WordPress.
Knowledge of accessibility requirements, such as WCAG 2.0.
Proficiency with Microsoft applications, including Word, Excel and Outlook.
Special criteria for this position
This position will be required to undertake occasional travel within the Capital Region. The incumbent must have a current Driver’s License and have access to a roadworthy, registered and comprehensively insured vehicle for work purposes. The relevant allowance will apply when travel is undertaken for work purposes.
CRCS also requires all employees to:
Hold or be willing to obtain a satisfactory Working with Vulnerable People registration (ACT) and/or a Working with Children Check (NSW), and have these with them at all times whilst employed by CRCS.
Undertake a National Criminal History Clearance by CRCS prior to commencing and every three years thereafter as a condition of employment. Employees are required to advise CRCS of any convictions that may effect their eligibility to work or perform the inherent requirements of their position
Maintain full COVID-19 vaccination currency and provide evidence of their vaccinations to CRCS (sensitive information is kept private and in accordance with the Australian Privacy Principles) unless they are able to provide suitable evidence of a medical contraindication that prevents them from receiving this vaccine.
