Fisheries Research and Development Corporation (FRDC) has been reviewing how we deliver impact for Australia’s fishing and aquaculture community, and as a result, have commenced a new and exciting phase squarely aimed at building collaborative approaches towards investment for impact.
FRDC plans, invests in, and manages research, development, and extension activities to increase benefits for Australian fishing and aquaculture, and the wider community.
The Role
The role of Communications Officer plays a vital role within the stakeholder team to develop strategy and execute communications to FRDC’s stakeholders. You will create and deliver communication material and activities that communicate how FRDC’s investment in RD&E program benefits the industry.

You will be responsible for:
- planning, creating, and sharing compelling digital content
- designing, project managing and implementing digital campaigns
- updating and utilising the CRM
- working with external and internal stakeholders for consistent narrative
- managing social media channels
- contributing to the strategic direction of web content
- being a team player within communications and wider team.
To be successful you will :
- have 2+ years in a similar role
- have suitable marketing and or communications qualifications
- have exceptional writing and communication skills
- be adept at using the various software to create templates and designs
- have experience driving, aligning, and managing social media content
- be comfortable within a science-based organisation to understand technical ‘talk’.
