The Client & Role:
We’re currently working with a large community focused retail business based in the Eastern Suburbs, they are looking to bring on a Communications Specialist with a background in the Retail/FMCG industry. Initially the role will be offered as a full-time 6-month contract with a strong likelihood of further extension, rates are up to $700 including superannuation per working day.
As the Communications Specialist you will be shaping the internal narrative and fostering a connected and informed workplace, ensuring anything produced is compelling, informative and accessible.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement internal communication strategies to enhance employee engagement and collaboration.
- Produce a weekly newsletter and a fortnightly operations pack, ensuring content is informative, engaging, and aligned with company values.
- Create and curate content for various platforms, including intranet, email, social media, and webinars.
- Utilize Microsoft 365 to its full potential for communication and collaboration purposes.
- Design compelling visual content using Adobe Creative Cloud, with a focus on InDesign, to support communication initiatives.
- Leverage Staffbase to streamline internal communications and enhance employee experience.
- Work closely with different departments to gather information and translate it into clear, concise, and relatable content for employees.
- Monitor and measure the effectiveness of internal communications and make data-driven recommendations for improvement.
- Stay abreast of industry trends and best practices in internal communications to continuously innovate and improve our communication efforts.
Required Skills & Specialisms:
- Tertiary education in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, or a related field adjacent from practical experience.
- Practical experience in internal communications within the retail or FMCG industry needed.
- Proficiency in Microsoft 365 is essential.
- Strong skills in Adobe Creative Cloud, particularly InDesign essential.
- Experience with Staffbase or similar employee communication platforms is highly desirable.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to produce content for diverse audiences.
- Adept at managing multiple projects simultaneously, with keen attention to detail and deadlines.
- A creative thinker with the ability to translate complex information into engaging and understandable content.
- A team player with a collaborative mindset, yet capable of working independently when required.
