About the Role:
The Wingecarribee Shire Council is looking for a Community Development Officer. The role requires the incumbent to support community development and wellbeing initiatives, events, programs and projects. The role will undertake community engagement and community planning initiatives that respond to identified community needs.
This position will utilise high level community engagement skills to work with community organisations, local residents, stakeholders and Council staff to implement capacity building programs and projects.
About You:
1. Tertiary qualifications in Social Sciences or related field and relevant work experience.
2. Demonstrated experience with cultural or community strategic planning.
3. Project and Event management skills and experience including managing grants, contracts and budgets
4. Demonstrated knowledge and experience in capacity building and community development activities.
5. Advance communication and interpersonal skills, that include the ability to lead and influence.
6. Ability to work flexibly to attend/manage programs and events.
7. Experience with Microsoft Office Computer applications and ability to learn new systems.
8. Valid Working with Children Check
9. Current C Class Driver's Licence
