$73,668 to $85,766 per annum

The Whitsunday Regional Council is situated at the heart of the Great Barrier Reef.  The region encompasses the 74 tropical Whitsunday Islands, the coastal towns of Cannonvale, Airlie Beach, Jubilee Pocket, Shute Harbour and Bowen along with the rural towns of Proserpine and Collinsville.  The Whitsunday region offers a dynamic environment and is perfectly placed to live, work, play and invest.

The Role

An exciting opportunity exists within our Community Services and Facilitation directorate for a Community Development Officer (Maternity Relief position).  In this role, you will be responsible for contributing to the objectives of Council through building close working relationships with not-for-profit community and sporting groups, aligning collective action to create a sustainably connected, healthy and inclusive community.

Essential

1. C Class Drivers Licence.
2. Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office Suite of Applications.

Desirable

1. Tertiary qualifications in Community Development or other similar discipline.
2. Prior experience in Local Government highly regarded.
3. Understanding of communities within the Whitsunday region.
4. Prior experience with funding/grant writing requirements, including acquittal and reporting obligations.
