We are currently seeking a passionate and motivated Community Development Officer to assist in the successful development and implementation of our Braking the Cycle program at our PCYC Logan Youth Club. Braking the Cycle (BTC) is our driver mentor program designed to support learner drivers without access to a supervisor or registered vehicle to complete their logbook hours. The aim of the program is to provide young people with increased employment opportunities and driver education.

Your New Role
The Community Development Officer will be will be responsible for the implementation, delivery and ongoing management of the Braking the Cycle Driving Program within the Youth Club,including the recruitment and training of Mentors for the Program. The Community Development Officer will assist the Business Development Manager to source local funding and sponsorship through the development and maintenance of long term strategic partnerships with corporate and community organisations.
About You
At least three (3) year’s experience in a similar role, preferably with the community sector
Ability to demonstrate knowledge of contemporary human services and child protection policies and procedures.
Good communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong relationshipswith young people
Demonstrated ability to manage time and meet competing deadlines and commitments;
Hold or willing to obtain First Aid and CPR Certificate
Current Driver’s License, eligible to obtain an RDA if required;
Eligibility for a QLD Working with Children Check (Blue Card) and National Police Check;
Please note: Working With Children Check (Blue Card) No Card, No Start and Restricted Person legislation applies. All PCYC employees are required to complete a National Police Check upon commencement.
