We are currently seeking for a Manager, Community Engagement on behalf of our prominent client in the mining industry with the role located in the Bowen Basin. The Manager, Community Engagement will help to lead the development of the client’s social licence and reputation through engagement focused on local stakeholders around the Blackwater and Daunia Mine and includes building and implementing the client’s Community Engagement and stakeholder strategy.
About the role:
As the Manager, Community Engagement you will
- Develop, implement and evaluate stakeholder engagement programs and project plans that aligns with the client’s vision, goals and direction.
- Develop and implement Community Engagement strategy including progress reporting to relevant board sub committees
- Prioritise & triage issues in a complex and fast-moving stakeholder environment
- Understand the range of community groups, individuals and government agencies that form the working context
- Lead stakeholder outreach initiatives, dialogue and other forms of engagement to understand key concerns and issues
- Advise senior project manager and staff on engagement strategies and emerging issues, to support decision making processes on major or critical issues
- Manage high quality content development for work notifications, newsletters, media releases, briefings, web content and external/internal stakeholder management reports
- The role will be required to travel to site locations regularly
About You:
- Previous related experience
- Strong track record with engaging with stakeholders across multiple sites and workstreams
- Track record of interfacing with, and influencing internal managers across all functions of the business
- Ability to think strategically using data and insights to develop and present to senior management
- Strong interpersonal skills, business acumen and proficiency in Microsoft Office are essential
- Experience in the Australian coal mining sector is considered advantageous
- Tertiary qualification in business (desirable)
- Willing to relocate
