The Brigidine Sisters are seeking a person to support Sisters living in communities and residential care. The Person will work in collaboration with the Brigidine Health Care Nurses, a member of the Leadership Team, the House Manager of our supported living facility as well as staff and Sisters in Residential Care facilities. This is a permanent part time position. Two days per week 10am till 4pm.
THE POSITION:
To take on this rewarding role you will need to possess strong communication skills, as well as being compassionate and patient in assisting Sisters who need your support. You will need to have experience within the aged care and/or home care industry. The role will be based at our Malvern Community Office, and you will need to have flexibility and availability to travel to and from Sisters’ residences. It is essential that you maintain a safe and professional working relationship with Sisters and colleagues, while being understanding and respectful of different needs. It will be imperative that confidentiality is maintained in every aspect of this role.
KEY CRITERIA REQUIRED:
- Certificate III in Individual Support (Ageing)
- Current Australian driving licence
- Current First Aid and/or CPR
- Current Flu and Covid vaccinations
- Current Working with Children Check
- Current Police Check
- Basic computer literacy
- A willingness to participate in formation sessions about the charism and mission of the Congregation of St. Brigid
KEY ASPECTS OF THE ROLE:
- Accompanying Sisters to appointments
- Working in conjunction with our Registered Nurses to maintain Allied Health appointments
- Working with other Brigidine Sisters to support the needs of those in residential care
- Some light shopping for individual Sisters as required
- Visiting Sisters in their home for support as required e.g., after a hospital stay
